Job Purpose;;
The Global Safety & Access Coordinator;will play a vital role in the;implementation of;GOAL’s global safety and access strategy.;This;role;will;serve;as the;principal deputy to the Head of Global Safety & Access, acting on their behalf during absences and leading designated global workstreams.;
The main aim of this role is to;guide and protect staff, mitigate risk and that adhere to the highest standards of security management.;You’ll;deliver technical guidance;to security focal points, provide operational leadership, and coordinate across all country programmes to ensure the consistent application of safety and access standards, while strengthening organisational risk management systems.;;

The;Global Safety and Access;Coordinator;will;be required;to conduct field assessments and evaluations and provide front line emergency support;as;required. Regular international travel will be;required;as part of this role;(up to;70%);predominately;across;Goal’s;operations in Africa;but also;across our Global portfolio;(as and when;required);

Global Coordination & Strategy Implementation;;
- Coordinate global safety and access systems, ensuring consistent application of policies and guidelines.;
- Support development, rollout, and review of guidance, SOPs, and tools.;
- Monitor country compliance and support corrective action planning.;
- Act as Deputy to the Head of Global Safety & Access, with delegated authority and representation;
Technical Support & Advisory Services;
- Advise;country Safety & Access staff and senior leadership on risk, context, and access strategies.;
- Consolidate;global data for incident reporting, trend analysis, and dashboards.;
- Produce briefs, risk updates, and analysis for SMT and programme leadership.;
Crisis Preparedness & Response Support;
- Serve on the crisis management roster, deploying as needed for emergency support.;
- Coordinate early crisis information flows, analysis, and recommendations.;
- Support after-action reviews and capture lessons learned.;
Capacity Building & Mentoring;
- Develop and deliver training for Safety & Access focal points and programme teams.;
- Facilitate peer-learning through workshops, exchanges, and virtual platforms.;
- Provide mentoring to safety personnel, supporting professional growth.;
Systems Management & Operational Oversight;
- Manage global safety platforms, including reporting systems, risk tools, and repositories.;
- Consolidate;safety metrics and contribute to HQ, SMT, and Board reporting.;
- Monitor emerging risks and support scenario planning with the;HoD.;
Representation & External Coordination;
- Represent the organisation in safety fora and inter-agency platforms when delegated.;
- Support external engagement by gathering intelligence and sharing perspectives.;
- Attend Advisory & Board meetings (e.g., PIAB, ARC, Board) as delegated.;
- Hold legal right to work in East Africa and flexibility to travel up to 70%.;
Experience Required;
- Proven;safety and access experience in humanitarian or INGO settings.;
- Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, incident analysis, and;emergency;response;in crises and conflicted affected countries.;
- Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.;
- Experience supporting or coordinating multi-country safety functions.;
- Ability to take on delegated leadership responsibilities and make decisions under pressure.;

Desirable;
- Experience acting in a deputy role or supporting senior functional leadership.;
- Proficiency;in French, Spanish, or Arabic.;
- Experience managing global systems (incident databases, risk dashboards, KPIs);
